This place is awesome!!! Best place to eat on the bluff! The food and service are great.

I ate here for the first time last week and I am very, very excited for my next visit. The selection for the vegetables and ingredients in my stiry-fry was just outstanding. I couldn't be more satisfied with the selection of sauces and meats as well. This is a fantastic operation you've got here. Highly recommended.

Go to Tim's Too for lunch and the price is reasonable at $9.99. If you go at night or after five o'clock they tac on $6 bucks for basically the exact same food. I guess you can get one fried shrimp with your meal. Its ridiculous to up charge that amount just because it's dinner time. Food is good but the condiment bar could be kept cleaner and more organized.

If you have had great mongolian grill food, do not come to this place. It will look like a street vendor. First off all, the place is small and has very limited seating. The line to get ingredients is inches away from the person sitting at their table, plus you have to deal with traffic from the waiters and those going to the bathroom. The waiters go in and out to serve the outdoor tables, so the doors open constantly. Allowing bugs to come inside the tiny restaurant and possibly lay its eggs on the ingredients. The bathroom is not at four star restaurant standard. There was a heater in the bathroom in July. I do not know why. The ingredients were poorly placed. It looked poor and it was served poor. The glass over the sauce was low, so when you grab sauce from a pot further away from you, you drip some of your terriyaki sauce in the kung pao sauce. It was messy. The meat was unattractive. I wanted chicken, but after seeing it, I had second thoughts. There's only one grill and its not that big. They also cook everything there. If you do not eat pork, guess what, your chicken is cooked on the same grill where the pork was cooked. You could be that customer who asks to cook their food in a separate wok, if that's the case, why bother eat at a place like this? The price I paid when I went there was $20. This is the one plate you had cooked on the grill, rice and a Sprite. Pretty pricey for something that is not even mongolian grill material. The waitress we had wasn't very friendly. She didn't explain how the process works for someone who has been there for the first time. I didn't finish my food, because after 10 bites, my stomach started feeling queasy. It was an overall bad experience for me.

I like Tim's Too when I get it; piling my plate full of veggies and fish, adding on eggs and flatbread, it's fun to create my own meal. When I get the bowl of steaming hot food slathered in sauce, I smile. But my smile fades at the terrible service, the high prices, and unsanitary conditions. When I've been here four times because it is quite healthy. Each chance I give it, I have gotten food poisoning; having travelled to many places and tried many foods including a lot of street food, I'm not one to always get sick from food. From the sticky seats and the flies here in the summer, I know that it's definitely not the cleanest place. As I sit here in pain, I don't think I will return again.

I would recommend eating here. The service was outstanding. You basically select your vegetables, sauce and any meat you'd like, then they cook it for you and bring it to the table. What was not impressive was that the bar was completely not being maintained: 1. Nearly all of the veggies containers to choose from were empty. Had to ask them to fill them. 2. The bar where you select your veggies and especially sauces was a huge disgusting mess with food and sauce everywhere. Not sure why they wouldn't wipe it down and keep it clean looking. Despite that, it was very enjoyable and I would visit again.

Probably one of my favorite places in saint joe. I always enjoyed putting together my own bowl. Don't be afraid to add some spiced up flavors.

Very good, health ingredients cooked to perfection on a flattop grill with lots of sauce and flavoring options. The flat bread is awesome! Get an extra. It's pretty cozy, so a group more than 6 is tough. The service is generally good, though I've noticed when they get busy they may not be staffed for it. The location is great, just across the street from the bluff's overlooking Silver Beach.

  • Bethany E.

Tasty food! Fun to pick out noodles, veggies, sauces and meat that they stir fry for you. The flat bread is a must!!

  • Monica G.

Just an over priced flat top grill. Awful service, every waitress was inattentive and really should be replaced.

  • Shawn M.

The food was fresh, and delicious. I know this, because I chose all the ingredients. That is the fun part. However, the place is laid out so poorly and crammed that my friend and I literally had butts in our faces the entire time. The bathroom was filthy. Like even a dirty toilet seat! Overflowing garbage can. The server was so meh about everything. Resting bitch face. Not one smile. Like she gave up on life or something. I didn't force her into the service industry. It's not my fault she had a bad day, or that every day may possibly be one. She should leave that at home. Such attitude. Refilled my friends water. Didn't even offer to fill mine. Food was good, but I won't go back.

Nice atmosphere although cramped area. Stir fry is good so is the dessert. Friendly service is dependent on who is serving not all seem to enjoy the job.

One of the better places to eat in St. Joe. I love coming here. Their food is delicious and service is always fast and friendly. It's a very small little place, and parking can be a challenge, but I highly recommend it. Try their roti bread with your meal, so delicious.

  • A C.

Awesome food, perfect for all diets! Higher price than I'd like to spend for some stir fry. The BIGGEST issue I have with this place and the only reason I don't go more, is the extremely limited seating. Not enough tables and they have been crammed in there as it is.

    (4)
  • Christopher R.

The only place worth eating in St Joseph if you're vegetarian/vegan. They have lots of options for vegans and it is delicious. I've been to many build your own/mongolian style bbq places (flat top grill, genghis grill, etc) and honestly this one is the best.

    (5)
  • Katie L.

Food was delicious and fresh! Love the sauces and the service was great too!

  • Padma A.

It is located near the silver beach and we went in for dinner. Stir fry style dinner $15/ person kinda of expensive! The food was ok but one good thing about them is they cook vegetarian food separately for which they get an extra star. I have had better!

    (3)
  • Alice K.

The only stir fry that i know of in the area unless you go to south bend area. You are charged one price for as much as you can fill in a bowl. There are many options of foods to choose from. Dinner time is $15 per person (which is pretty expensive in my opinion). The price is the only downside.

  • Betsy N.

Best vegetarian option in the area :) make your own stir fry place like Mongolian BBQ only local. Lots of veggies, vegan meats, tofu, and delicious sauces. And mi craft beers too.

    (5)
  • Steven M.

Really like this place. Many options for veggies and protein. Space is only issue as you normally sit very close to other parties.

  • Walt B.

I decided to check this place out while visiting Michigan because it reminded me of a place back in Florida called the Ghengis Grill. I was pleasantly surprised that it was even better than the Ghengis Grill and the food was fresh and delicious. I don't go to Michigan often, but will definitely be stopping here again when I'm back in the area.

  • B S.

The food is great but so so tired of the rude people that work there. They always have an attitude and roll their eyes. I have overlooked it every other time but they'll never get my business again; there is no reason for it and enough is enough. I had to walk out this time. DONE!!! Schu's got our business tonight - sooo much better!!!

  • Julie W.

Love being able to choose the what vege's I like. Stir Fry to order. People are always nice. Because the building is small, sometimes there is a wait, but guess good places are worth the wait. Must do when in St. Joe

  • Christopher C.

This place is tasty. I love smashing in as many vegetables as possible and topping it off with a funky custom sauce concoction. I would recommend the addition of flatbread at the last station. It tastes somewhere between magic and happiness.

Went to Tim's Too Friday night. Staff was great and food, as always, was fresh and wonderful! One of our go-to spots for a great dinner.

Awesome environment, Great Food. This Stir Fry place has some amazing sauces. I love this place. Little costly though. Also lunch is cheaper than dinner.

A very good place to get an Asian fusion meal. The selection was good. I will come again when I'm in the area.

Best DIY stir fry place I've ever been too!! This place is top notch. High quality ingredients. Great pricing. Just wish it was a little bigger and we had one in Milwaukee

    (5)
  • T P.

The staff were incredibly helpful and there was a wide selection of foods and sauces to put in your stir-fry! My family loved that they separated meat into a new bowl and had gluten-free and vegetarian protein options! The price wasn't bad either. There's no extra charge for adding meat, flatbread or making the stir-fry into soup or a wrap. All around delicious!

    (5)
  • Ray S.

Yes the place is a bit small and has a limited drink selection but the wait staff is very friendly and the food is great. There are a number of fresh ingredients to choose from and you definitely won't go home hungry if you pile up your bowls. The sauces were great and our waitress was extremely accommodating for a special cooking request. I only am in the area to visit family but definitely will come back again the next time I am in town.

I am a frequent diner at FlatTop Grill and Stir Crazy in Chicago, but Tim's Too cannot be beat for Stiry-Fry. It is a must on my to-do list when visiting St. Joe. Beware of the long waits though during lunch hour. I was here this past weekend on a Saturday afternoon and they were definitely understaffed! I felt awful for the one waitress that was busily serving the neverending crowd. &&& dont say no to the flatbread!

  • Nicole M.

This would be a 1 star if the food weren't so good (I mean, it's my creation so of course the food is good!). Everything else is very grim. The prices are high, especially for this area. Really, 2 tiny salad shrimp doesn't justify the cost...and this comes from an ex-Flat Top employee. The staff- wow. I think they would hire just about anyone, and seeing as it can't get much worse...apply, people! I run a hospital kitchen so I know about standards when it comes to the Food Code. Touching food with fingers, especially unwashed, is absolutely inexcusable. And drinking in a prep area with an uncovered container? Ew. I guess what's most surprising is that there was about as many people working as dining and it was still slow and molasses. I think the cherry on top was the employees friends loitering around the restaurant and going out back to smoke, leaving the back door wide open in JANUARY in MICHIGAN. The smell of smoke was also quite off-putting and I know it wasn't just me that smelled it -- the table 2 inches next to ours smelled it, too. I got brave to dine last night at 8pm after being turned away at 8pm on NEW YEARS EVE. I mean, do they want to be in the business of not making money? Sadly, this place won't survive without some serious intervention from owners and a huge upgrade in staff. I truly want to see this place succeed, so this review is meant to be helpful, not hurtful. Get it together, Tim's Too...please!

I have been a fan of Tim's Too since they opened. I like healthy food that is heavy on the vegetables whenever possible, so being able to create my own stir fry that reflects my sensibilities is very attractive, and I have never been disappointed in the combinations that I have created. The vegetables are also always perfectly cooked, and I am picky about that. As a former vegetarian, I still frequently like to explore vegetarian options, and they have a good selection of vegetarian proteins. I really like the the mock duck. Additionally, their array of flavorful sauces is impressive. I have never gone there for dinner, only lunch, so the noisy, crowded environment does not bother me in that context. Today, I actually took the opportunity to sit at the bistro tables outside and that was a nice option on a breezy, warm summer day. The server was very gracious and transitioned me outside without any difficulties and the quality of service was very good.

This place is great! Fresh veggies, various lean cuts of meat, great selection of sauces and Roti! The choice of eating from a bowl or a wrap is nice. The environment is a bit small but nice and homey simple vs glitz, feels nice. The people were nice. Great place for a Asian fusion fix. I do have one nit: We ordered rice on the side. The rice was dry, not sticky.

I had heard rave reviews of Tim's Too from friends, so when the opportunity to try it came about last week, I jumped to it. The interior is not quite what I expected based on how the exterior looks. I was expecting a casual upscale feel instead of a casual feel with cramped tables. I've been to a few Mongolian grills and this one is so-so. The food was OK as was the selection. The service was a bit slow, especially to get beverages. If you have a Mongolian fix and are in the area, this might do the trick. If you can wait, go to a different place.

  • Susan G.

As the other reviewers have pointed out the food is excellent here. I would give this 5 stars except for the fact that the tables are sooo close together that it really is hard to manuever in the restaurant. There is a good selection of appetizers, beer, and wine. The potstickers are especially tasty. Lunch, including beverage and an appetizer runs about $15 per person. For dinner count on it running about $25 per person. After dining here we always enjoy taking a walk over to the bluff and just sitting and relaxing looking at the beach and lake. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I took my family for lunch today to Tim's Too. The service is pretty much non-existent, but maybe that's to be expected at a Mongolian Barbecue. There were seven of us and the bill came to about $100 with tip. The food was good (not great) and the service was passable (at best). All the different mixtures ended up tasting similar to one another. My 90 year old grandmother literally ate one small scoop of noodles with pesto sauce and nothing else. Didn't even heat it up. And I was charged $12 for it. When I asked the waitress for some relief she said she 'really couldn't do it', but reduced the charge to a child's plate at $7. That was really unacceptable. To charge $7 for a bite of food, when you're spending $100 is ridiculous. Atmosphere is different for Saint Joe, the food is average, and the service is sub-par. And at $12 a plate for serve yourself lunch the price is a bit high for SW Michigan.

I've been here twice both times the food was excellent. I'm usually leery of this type of place, but both times I was here I had an excellent meal. Service was Aldo good.

  • Mandy A.

Love this place! There are lots of great options for creating your own stir fry, and they even have vegetarian "meat" options and tofu. It's hard to find a good restaurant that serves vegetarian dishes in this area, but Tim's Too has it covered. Also, the flat bread is phenomenal. I usually go during off peak hours to avoid a line. It does tend to get busy during lunch and traditional dinner hours.

  • Bradley G.

Best Mongolian stir fry I have ever tasted! Tim's has a good selection of veggies, meat and sauces and lets you put your concoction on a salad or in a wrap amongst other options. It's kind of a small dinning area but the space is used well. I also noticed they had an interesting selection of beer, some of which I had never heard of before.

  • Katie S.

I've been to Tim's Too several times, and the cramped dining room is definitely an issue. I gave this restaurant 4 stars though because I've always walked away with a delicious meal (and leftovers for a second meal). You must try the flatbread, which makes any trip to Tim's Too worthwhile.

  • Jacques M.

I was pleasantly surprised with the place, as it is similar to the Flat Top franchise (An Asian Grill), which I am not a huge fan off. However, Tim's seems to use better quality rice, noodles and add on's. Basically, you make your own dish and the chef cooks it on a flat top grill. They have a wide variety of items to add to your dish and variety of sauces to can sample prior to pouring a bunch of it on your meal. Moreover, they have an interesting selection of beers (Bear Beer, Ed Hardy, and other relatively obscure beers) for a place in a very touristy area. The waitress was good and explained everything well. It came to about $40 (for two), which is kind of a lot for Asian food (especially considering the area), which is my only complaint. Overall, I would stop back in next time I visit St. Joe's.

    (4)
  • Matt K.

The sauces gave been very mild lately. Just not what I'm looking for. I always enjoyed the two hottest but my food was very bland the past few times I've been there. Hopefully they step it back up.

  • Bernie G.

This is a great Mongolian BBQ place. The selection is limited and the price is a little steep for what you get but the quality is top notch. The superb selection of sauces is what makes this place a do not miss. P.S. use at least 5 scoops of sauces for best results.

  • William N.

It's a pretty good place for Asian fusion. It's big pull is the Mongolian stir fry, but the menu also has Pho, Potstickers, Vegetable Shrimp Spring Rolls, etc... The quality of the food is really good, much better than the dumpier, authentically Asian places in metro areas. The decor is really kinda hip for this town as well. For those who are price sensitive, Tim's Too is pricier as well, with the Lunch stir fry at $9 and the dinner at $14, with a 2nd trip for an additional $4. While not out of this world price-wise for a city, it's a little steep for this town, but I'll definitely go back from time to time, as the quality is much better than any of the Chinese joints anywhere in the county. Also on the downside (for me) is that the place was really hot. Now it is Summer, but the place as just way too hot and it might be a nice relief when it gets cold out. Additionally, it was pretty noisy and kinda chaotic. Some people don't mind that, but it's kinda off-putting to me. Also, it seems a little cramped for the number of tables in the place. Overall, I'd say it's a positive and it's about time someone put in a decent Asian place in town. To compliment this restaurant, it would be great if someone also opened up a Thai restaurant in this town. I'll settle for anywhere in Berrien county. Overall, I'd say great job Tim.

LOVED this hole in the wall. It has it's own take on a Mongolian BBQ style approach to creating your own dish, but with much better sauces and flavors. Definitely GET THE NAAN!!!!!

Great stir fry. If you are ever in southwest Michigan this place is a must

Good food. Nice selection of beer. cramped space can detract from overall dining experience.

    (4)
  • Andy W.

Excellent food! Many choices of veggies to throw in and a nearly obscene amount of sauces to choose from (and they're all made IN HOUSE)! It was nice that they let you taste test the sauces. We went with the Tim's Too sauce and was not disappointed. This is a must stop restaurant if you're in St. Joe!

    (5)
  • David K.

Good mongolian if you have little to compare it to. Over priced at $15 a bowl and crowded dining room. They don't have a good syatem for the first timers. Still have to admit that I eat there a few times a year for lack of other mongolian places available.

    (2)
  • C Y.

Good stir fry, if you mix the right stuff. It was good to find a good stir fry place instead of a bar and grill. The space was a bit cramped, and I think they could have had a wider selection of appetizers, then again the won ton shrimp was outstanding, and I don't even like shrimp. If you don't like what the chef cooked you, that's you fault, you didn't put in the right stuff.

    (4)
  • Eric R.

The place is small and a bit cramped. But the Mongolian style grill/BBQ is good, and the options at the end to make your food chooses is a nice touch. The price is a little bit higher then most other Mongolian style places i have been but still good. I recommend this place for lunch as it is cheaper by about $2 per plate then the dinner, dinner adds two items at the end you can have added to your meal.

  • Jim K.

I took 2 different friends here for lunch in the past week. Both have been to Mong. BBQs & both thought - as I do, that the food is very fresh, the choices plenty and the all flavorful (excellent sauces). Seating tight - you'd think you're in an NY deli! Friendly staff, great beer selection - wine good, too!

28 dollars for one small bowl of food and 2 beers. You figure out what I would review this! I will never return and suggest you never attend!!

One of my favorite restaurants in sw MI. Similar to Mongolian Barbecue, but better. Yes, it's a bit tight during rush hour, but worth the minor inconvenience. Super book coupons too!

  • Robert T.

This one's a borderline 3/4 stars, but I'll grade down mostly for service and environmental issues. I had the Mongolian BBQ (put-the-ingredients-together-yourself-and-hand-it-off-to-a-grill-cook stir fry), and it was really good. They had about 30 or so vegies, about 20 different sauces, and about a dozen meats. Along with that, they serve it with an... umm... Asian tortilla? I'm not sure exactly what it was, but it was pretty tasty as a side item for the stir fry. I would recommend the sauce I got, but to be honest, I don't remember exactly what it was (I think it was something like Ponzu). I did mix in a little of the spicier diablo sauce too. Great flavor. On food alone, this place is a solid 4. However, these reviews are not based on food alone. The service was just OK. My server was nice, but unattentive. The hostess was very nice... The grill cook was very nice... but I was just put off a bit by my server. As William mentioned, the place also has some environmental problems. Simply for the type of place it is, it is going to have a lot of smoke/steam/heat from the grill area. Most Mongolian BBQs I've been to have had ridiculous ventillation systems to get all of that mess out of the restaurant. This one was either non-existent, non-operational, or just plain sucked. The place was stuffy and hot. I can't imagine what it must be like with a group of 8 in August... oh wait, William covered that. Bottom line: great food, but don't plan on being wowed by the rest of the package.
